Our product, both the H31i0 and the Mirror Lotus relate to empathy by design because it gives people in the Guinea a sense of security. It also gives the women a chance to get an education and advance in society. With our project we hope to appeal to empathy through sending our innovations to underdeveloped countries.

    Phase three of our project’s plan is to distribute and provide the solar panel and its reflectors to under privileged people, specifically in the Guinea. For many of the people living in this environment, electricity is a huge help. The product will be used towards boosting security and mainly increasing women's education. Most women in third world countries are widely oppressed and not given as many opportunities as men. Only 47.6% of women were literate in the Guinea in 2014, as opposed to 65.6% of men. With our product, women trying to get an education will be able to study more at night or use the energy towards other errands, so they have more time to focus on education.

    Women being more educated will allow the economy to grow, by having a larger pool of people supporting themselves. The education of women will also help women understand ways to better maintain themselves and their children, increasing overall health and satisfaction. Many women, being less valued in societies like this, are in very bad situations where they live. Abuse and forceful behavior from men causes physical and mental trauma to these women. The controlling of women restricts what they can achieve and how they live. The introduction of more educational opportunities for women can give them the chance to understand their situation and give them options on how to fix it.

   They’ll have better odds of doing well on their own and will be able to stand up to those opposing them. We realize the chance that every one of our products will be put towards women’s education is slim, however, it will at least increase the opportunities for giving these females literacy and schooling. Also, any increase of subjects being taught to those in underdeveloped countries is a great benefit. None of the people will have to pay for the product, all financial issues will be taken care of by our sales in phases one and two.
